EAA Chapter 283
About Our Chapter
Aviators, builders, and enthusiasts united by an unshakeable love of flight.
Who We Are
A Chapter Rooted in Community and Craftsmanship
EAA Chapter 283 was established to bring together aviation enthusiasts throughout northeastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding region. We are a chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), a global organization dedicated to growing participation in aviation through education, advocacy, and community.
Whether you're a certificated pilot, a student working toward your license, an aircraft builder, a restorer, or simply someone who loves to watch airplanes — you have a home here. Our members range from seasoned aviators with decades of experience to curious newcomers taking their very first flight.

These flights are conducted by EAA-member volunteer pilots in their own aircraft. Each Young Eagle receives a flight logbook entry and a personalized certificate signed by Harrison Ford, Honorary Chairman of the Young Eagles program.
Parents and guardians are welcome at every event. No prior aviation experience is required.
